* Wednesday, Oct. 23rd, 6:30-8 pm:  Ward 1 Check-in
Hyattsville Ward 1 Council members Scooter Ward and Bart Lawrence invite you to the Meadworks for a Ward 1 update and dialog about current issues and events in your neighborhood.
* Thursday, Oct. 24th, 7-10 pm:  Yarnia October is here and it's time to knit and craft!  Open to anyone who likes to knit, craft, draw, and relax.  All ability levels, friendly company, and delicious mead.  New Yarnians welcomed with open yarns :)

* Friday, Oct. 25th, 7-10 pm:  Jazz NightFeaturing the Hyattsville Jazz Collective!  This Friday’s hot line-up includes Luke Brandon on trumpet, Chris Ziemba, on piano, Cameron Kayne on bass and Kevin Cerovich on drums (and maybe trombone).  Don’t miss the best jazz in the DMV right in your own backyard!
* Saturday, October 26th, noon-10 pm:  First Anniversary Halloween Party!!!
Please help us celebrate our one year Meadworks anniversary with a Halloween Party!!  Bobbing for apples, costume contest, brass quintet, sheet cake, and lots of great mead, including our latest release of Pumpkin Spice mead!  Plus the debut of two special items hand-crafted just for the Meadworks.

We are very excited that the Portobello Brass Quintet will be joining our 1st Anniversary Halloween Party!  Featuring an awesome arrangement of the soundtrack to Tim Burton's "Nightmare Before Christmas," they will bring you lots of other brass-centric Halloween-y songs,
Portobello is a group of 5 friends who regularly get together for camaraderie and classical music. For the past three years, the group has performed around the DMV in eclectic venues from street choir corners to professional concert halls. They are all classically trained, and between the five of them, have 7 degrees in music. No matter the genre or location, Portobello has the simple goal of enjoying music in its different forms, and passing that enjoyment on to you.
